Make sure you click on the link to Download using http as mentioned in my howto. And no, in my experience, you just plug in a USB stick and it works on YDL (as long as it's not NTFS formatted for some reason).

Best place to ask for help is on the community board:

Good luck! :)

yo,when i i click the download link for the ibm java file to download in yellowdog i get a download window that looks like the windows internet down loader window but then ironically it says i cannot download due to missing plug ins (with the green puzzle icon inviting me to click here to find the missing plug ins) i click the puzzle icon and then it says install sun java (which as we know doesn't work on ps3 :) so i need to install java to install java? damn linux.....you would think they can just allow these things to work!!

maybe im not saving it right or do i have to download the file from my laptop then open it in yellowdog via usb stick? (oh i forgot i cant get my usb stick to work because its geeky linux and you need to find the usb with source code that it expects you to know) .

oh well ive tried getting my wifi to work and cant tried getting java to work and cant tried playing mp3s and cant what hope is there for linux users who dont know code? someone will have a solotion but you need to know these things and thats what annoys me,should be user friendly.

Yes, but the best way I know of to play it on the PS3 is using the native Linux source port from icculus.org. I have an RPM package for installing it here:

I made a few youtube videos of games running on YDL 6 using Linux ports (Quake II, Duke 3D, Hexen II, and Descent 2) ...
